As I work on each painting, I try to convey to the viewer(s) the same sense of wonder, humor, and excitement that I feel about the subject. I am drawn to the rugged expressionism of the palette knife, which moves the subject’s reality into abstraction. I work continually to push the textured canvas towards three-dimensional illusions of depth, while retaining my joy of vivid colors.
